Description: Game Design in Python
Happy Code Club presents: Game Programming with Python where the power of the language is exposed as it relates to making games. Python is an easy to learn yet powerful computer language. Some of today's most commonly used websites are powered with Python such as YouTube, Google and more. In this class, some of the games we work on include Rock, Paper Scissors, Turtle Race!, Secret Messages (encryption) and more! Each project is easy for beginners to grasp and provides a transition into more complex games. You will also learn how to problem solve errors in a computer program; a technique called “debugging” which will help you fix problems to get your game to work perfectly.
Prerequisites: Ability to follow written and visual instructions and proper use of mouse and keyboard.
Computer Requirements: Windows or Macs or Chromebooks are recommended. Chrome Browser or Safari browser are recommended. WIFI access is a must. Built in Microphone, and Sound are recommended. Headphones with a microphone are recommended. Mouse is recommended but note: Children may need help using a mouse and keyboard. (left click vs. right clicking)
