Description: Game Design in Scratch Programming
In this fun coding class kids go behind the scenes of video games to learn how they are made by creating their own game using the programming language Scratch. Kids create animations, develop stories, and solve problems making this class perfect for an introduction to computer programming or as continuation from previous courses. The computer science concepts learned in this class can be used for many coding projects kids are likely to encounter in future endeavors. It’s fun from the first minute to the last, so come and be a Game Programmer!
Prerequisites: Ability to follow written and visual instructions and proper use of mouse and keyboard.
Computer Requirements: Windows or Macs or Chromebooks are recommended. Chrome Browser or Safari browser are recommended. WIFI access is a must. Built in Microphone, and Sound are recommended. Headphones with a microphone are recommended. Mouse is recommended but note: Children may need help using a mouse and keyboard. (left click vs. right clicking)
NOTE: Tablets are not recommended but they will work if they have a screen larger than 9.5” and have a recent ios or android version installed.
